A walk behind the buildings.
A walk behind the buildings is a set of images from a study of small pathways found in city and industrial centres in British Columbia. These pathways are often designed solely to help with the clearing of shrubs and debris from small streams that are related to the salmon season. This particular pathway makes it’s way through an industrial area to the Fraser River.
I walked around the neighbourhood this morning. This is what I saw.
Behind the public library.
Behind the public library, in a small area called Renfrew Park, is a stream that comes out of the hillside and is in the open for just a block or so. It’s called “Still Stream.” It’s a little valley where Jeff Wall once took a photo. Across the street are some houses I have photographed. Today, in the rain, I walked through this tiny valley, surrounded by a public school, library and suburban house, just feet away.
